GLORIA VANDERBILT CLAIMS THAT SPIRIT OF MARILYN MONROE CONTACTS HER

Gloria Vanderbilt has spooked her son and even a professional psychic by being 'contacted by Marilyn Monroe' - and has revealed that she believes she is psychic herself.

The actress, socialite, artist and mother of TV presenter Anderson Cooper, met with psychic John Edward who revealed that Monroe had something to tell the veteran star.

On the host's daily talk show, Anderson, Mr Cooper spoke about his and his mother's unnerving experiences of visiting the medium.

'Was the experience different than you thought it would be?' Mr Cooper asked his 87-year-old mother.

'Well, for example, that Marilyn came up was fascinating to me' the oft-troubled heiress replied.

A clearly bemused Mr Cooper then said: 'I didn't know you guys were - I didn't know you knew Marilyn Monroe.'

'That's freaky': John Edward is clearly amazed that Gloria Vanderbilt is contacted though him by Marilyn Monroe

'Yes, I did. So she kind of came suddenly into this amazing conversation,' Ms Vanderbilt replied.

But it is medium Mr Edward's response that tellingly highlights how unusual a message from the late pop icon is. 'For me, I get some pop cultural references,' he said.

'So I was doing a reading for somebody who's not a known figure and I'm seeing Marilyn Monroe. So I would say who's Marilyn? They would say, that's my aunt. That's my grandmother. Not Marilyn Monroe. So it's kind of a little bit -- it's freaky for -- it's freaky...'

'I was a friend of hers,' explains New York local Ms Vanderbilt. 'I've always felt the whole world identifies in some way with her, which is why she's such an incredible - I mean, she's with us today, and we all have things in us that we identify with her and relate to her.  And I felt very close to her for many reasons.'

Mr Cooper, for his part, sees the irony in the strange revelation. 'I find it interesting that you freaked out John Edward.'

The psychic also appeared to contact Mr Cooper's father who had a 200-acre farm in Mississippi.

Mr Cooper said that the conversation - and Mr Edward's correct knowledge of his past - 'really caught me by surprise... I don't think I ever told anybody that anywhere.'

Ms Vanderbilt, who said she is 'somewhat psychic,' is clearly at odds with her son's opinions on the subject.

The sceptical show host admitted that 'I'm still not sure I'm a believer,' although Ms Vanderbilt has a fan in the medium.

'I think we all have the [psychic] ability,' Mr Edward told the intrigued mother and doubtful son.

DOES COCO CHANEL HAUNT THE RITZ HOTEL IN PARIS?

Does the ghost of Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel haunt a suite at The Hotel Ritz in Paris?
That’s what author Justine Picardie claims. She just wrote a biography titled “Chanel: Her Life.”
The way the story goes is: the writer was staying in Chanel’s old room in the famed Place Vendome hotel – which is not the grande suite that goes for 10,000 Euros a night, but rather a modest space near the attic and overlooking unfashionable Rue Cambon – soaking up some atmosphere during her research.
She got more than she bargained for. As soon as she turned off the lights to call it a night, a bulb popped out of a wall sconce straight up in the air. Then other lights, including her bedside lamp, flashed on and off while whispering sounds filled the room.
The next morning an electrician could find no cause for the strobe effect, but a hotel staffer coolly replied that Picardie was a lucky because “I hear Mademoiselle paid you a visit last night.”

FAMILY WANT TO MOVE FROM WELSH HAUNTED HOUSE

PARANORMAL investigators have been called to investigate poltergeist activity that a resident says has been tormenting her for weeks.

Lisa Way, who lives in Ely, said she was taking action to exorcise the demon spirits that plague the home she shares with her two teenage daughters – after a recent visit from a pastor failed to do the trick.

The ghostly goings-on began three weeks ago, on her daughter’s 14th birthday.

She said: “We had been seeing things out of the corner of our eye for a while.

“But on that day things started getting weirder. I started feeling cold air on my face. I saw white light flash by the door. We started taking pictures with our camera phones – and the strangest things started showing up. Arms coming round doors, legs coming down the stairs.”

“I said ‘we need to get out of here right now’. We haven’t slept here since.”

She said that the most frightening incident was a few nights after the birthday, when Lisa approached her front door – and saw a man staring at her from the front window.

Since then there have been lights that turn on and off by themselves, kettles that turn on in the middle of the night and the sound of children running around upstairs.

Lisa said she was desperate for the council to move her out of the house, in Marcross Road, Ely, where she has lived happily for more than 10 years until she realised it was haunted. “I spoke to the council and said we can’t stay here – but they don’t have a policy for dealing with haunted houses. They gave me a business card for a pastor. He blessed the house but it only made things worse.”

The family has turned to mediums Richard Oliver and Christopher Rees, better known as Paranormal Wales.

A spokeswoman for Cardiff council confirmed it did not have a policy for dealing with paranormal activity and they had not received notice from the tenant she wished to move houses.

BEER THROWING POLTERGEIST PLAGUES HAUNTED HOTEL

The Shurland Hotel
Strange occurrences have been reported over the years by staff, customers and guests staying at the Shurland Hotel.
Now, one of the spooky incidents at the Eastchurch venue has finally been caught on film.
Staff got a fright when a full pint glass flew off one of the tables and smashed on the floor as they sat talking about the issue of suicide.
Desperate to prove it wasn’t a prank, they begged owner Steven Haynes to check the bar’s CCTV.

Mr Haynes, who took over the hotel in March 2009, said: “It is 100 per cent genuine.
“I wasn’t there, but when I came down they were like 'quick, quick look at the camera’. When I did, I thought 'Wow, that’s quite impressive’.”
The 33-year-old and his partner, Sam Banks, have set up a blog entitled the Shurland Hotel Ghost Blog so they can start logging any supernatural activity. “So much stuff happens here,” said Mr Haynes.
“We’ve had banging on the walls and footsteps across the roof but nobody’s there.
“We live in the flat at the top [of the hotel] and Sam’s woken up before and seen a little girl aged about seven or eight just standing at the foot of the bed.
“We also have a touch lamp in our bedroom that turns on randomly – so much so that we’ve now unplugged it.
“A guy who was building a dental lab in Eastchurch stayed at the hotel for about eight weeks and said one day his bedroom door opened at about 7am and someone peered in, he jumped out of bed but nobody was there.
“We used to keep toilet rolls at the top of the cellar stairs. One day, one of our barmen was walking past and one came out of the door and hit him and the other went down the stairs, that happened about three times.
“There’s also been times when I’ve turned off the cellar light, then gone round the corner and then gone back to find the light is back on.”

A NEW YEAR POLTERGEIST?

This is quite an old video - dating back to the New Year in 2006.
This camera clip you are about to see was fitted in the men`s toilets at a busy pub.
The reason for this unusual position was stamp out violence and drug dealing taking place, with any video being used as evidence.
However, on this occasion the camera picked up a lot more than human activity as you will see if you follow the on screen instructions to move to 2:48 where the show begins, which was incidentally, 12 seconds into the new year.
De Bees Music Bar is based in Winsford, Cheshire and is very popular with younger revellers.
Other than it`s current use, I cannot find much if any on the history of this building.

As always, there are `know all` sceptical comments on the video arguing it could be the work of a reveller on the other side banging the wall - well, logically if that were so, the mirror would have been changed to a metallic one a long time ago with the boisterous younger crowd the bar attracts, and another view that it could have been someone outside in the `smokers area` propelling something at the glass to make it break. Again another malformed view as the exterior windows were closed and undamaged, but that doesn`t stop people coming up with amazing explanations!

There are identified flashes on the video, and one wonders whether it was the work of someone who had met their death to return on New Year to cause problems.

In any case, a worthy video to share for your thoughts and opinions.
